Hi guys!

I was wonmdering if anyone could help localize the 2012 SFD countdown in
Russian this year? Considering the number of Russian teams this year
that would probably be very helpful for some. I'm also very happy to see
your list so active (even if I don't really know what you're talking
about *cough* *cough*).

Full details are available here
http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountDown and target location in the
wiki is here:
http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountDown/ru

Last but not least I'm still looking for 1/2 more bloggers to start a
Russian SFD planet with topic related to SFD and FOSS (personal life is
ok too, as long as you don't often go and fix you're friends windows PC
on it ;-) ).

Thanks a lot.

Я возьмусь.
I'm confused a bit; are you taking the SFD countdown task, or
starting a free software-themed blog?

Good luck, either way.

I'm talking about both. The countdown has already been translated in
Russian (that was REALLY fast!) and I just enabled it. So now the
00here.png is removed and Eugene can upload the new one \o/

For the planet we already have an English, Spanish, Portuguese and
German one readable at
http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/en/community/sfd-planet . There is a
language switcher at the top but some listed languages are not enable
due to lack of feeds. The rules are that we start a new language with 3
feeds. Checking http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/planet-ru we have 2
from last year (assuming they are still valid). So technically we would
need one more Russian feed to start a Russian planet.

Was that a better explanation?

I'd like to add that an FOSS organization blog feed involved in SFD and
other FOSS activities is fine too. We do have some on the English planet.

Well, JFTR: I was confused over the Eugene's reply specifically
(as quoted above), not the contents of the original message.

(Now that the countdown is done, his intent is indeed obvious.)

Excellent! I'll work on this this weekend. thanks again.

I will also be very happy to "sub-contract" the moderation of who goes
on the Russian planet since I don't read any Russian. I don't mind doing
the hackergotchis when necessary though. Any taker?

Thanks.

Thanks a lot! I've enabled it already as mentioned in my previous email
and you can upload the last image file which is for when SFD is over
(00here.png).

Thank you again.

We will announce it in the coming minutes/hour.

Thanks again for the countdown. For the mailing list question this is
indeed very weird and I have no explanation. I need to check google and
eventually troubleshoot or ask the question to Canonical who is
maintaining the list software (and will definitely have more experience
in all the problems that mailman may have). Thanks for pointing this out.

To note is that the Alexander's (***@tverdikov.ru) messages
are also missing.

My guess would be that the mailing list archiving software
simply discards any multipart/alternative messages (containing
the same text encoded as both text/plain and text/html) it sees.
(Please note, however, that such a configuration is somewhat
unconventional when it comes to the mailing lists, and is more
than occasionally frowned upon.)

Fortunately, Gmane [1] seems to handle these well. (Though it
seems to be down at the moment. I wonder if it's somehow
related to the recent hardware upgrades there?)
